How To Use AndroTF

Get your Android connected to your Mac and start transferring files in under a minute.

01
Connect via USB

Plug your Android device into your Mac using a USB-C or USB-A cable. Make sure you're using a data cable, not a charge-only cable.

02
Enable File Transfer Mode

When prompted on your Android device, tap the USB notification and select "File Transfer" (also called MTP). If you don't see a prompt, pull down your notification shade and tap the USB option.

03
Open AndroTF

Launch AndroTF on your Mac. Your device will appear in the left sidebar. Click it to browse internal storage and SD card (if present).

04
Transfer Files

Wait for files to load, navigate to the files you want to transfer, select single or multiple files, then right click and select 'Save' or drag and drop them directly into a Finder window.

Troubleshooting Tips

If your device isn't detected, try a different USB port or cable.

Some Samsung devices require you to unlock the phone before the connection is recognised.

Transferring large video files? Use a USB 3.x port for significantly faster speeds.

Enable 'Developer Options > USB debugging' only if advised — it is not required for MTP file transfers.
